Hi everyone,

My wife picked up a Scooby 555 Version 2 a few months back she's a member on here but i can't remember her user name.

I have a few questions before the MOT, It had a full system Turbo back fitted not long before she got it and the guy we got it off has now decided to tell me he doesn't think he had a sports cat fitted at the same time. where on the system is the cat usually so i can have a look.

they are usually fitted in the down pipe.

this usually can be seen from the engine bay looking behind the turbo. but some aftermarket systems fit them at the end of the down pipe, which is next to the gear box.

Usually the main cat is located in the downpipe.
Have a look at the pipe that connects to the back of the turbo, don past the bulkhead. If it's huge it's probably got a catalyst. If it's only the width of the thinnest sections of the exhaust its probably a cat bypass pipe, in which case you need a friendly MOT tester...

I've had a look this afternoon and the pipe from the turbo is about 3 to 4 inch diameter all the way back, there looks to be a little muffler about 12 inch from the back box and thats about it. i'm guessing that means no cat
