My V7 Bug is running a little rough so had a diagnostic check done which came up with P1230, fuel pump control malfunction. I can't seem to find any reference to it's location, any pointers guys?

It's idling a little rough, when you drive slowly it it's almost as if someones pulling up the handbrake and then it'll miss and feel like it's boosting low when you push it.
I found the control unit in the boot but i changed that, cleared the fault code but after a run it re-appeared when i plugged the OBD reader back in

I always thought the fuel pump running was controlled by the ecu itself, I just googled it for you and a common reason for this cel is wiring issues to the pump, ie damaged wiring or bad earths, so get a multimeter out and test them all
