hi guys just about to do my clutch on my 1996 wrx classic, my question is im sure it has a lightened and balanced flywheel in it and a racing clutch, last time it needed one i put it into a local garage and told them if they could fit a normal clutch back in it and was told they could not do this because of the flywheel being lightened and balanced iam 46 years old done my flying about when i was alot younger so i really do not need a racing clutch in the subaru so is it possible just to fit a normal clutch in instead of a racing one.

Hi Scot,

A standard clutch will fit a lightened/lightweight flywheel fine (as long as it's not a multi plate clutch setup currently).

We can supply a Exedy Standard Clutch kit for under £150 if the garage is giving you questionable advice I would find another garage to fit it.

it is myself that is going to fit the clutch i have a small garage with a ramp in it so doing this one myself and i c from ur post it says uk clutch mine is the wrx import??
