Default New Exedy Slipping

Just bought my new '03 sti and driven it a few times and the thought it was my foot dragging on the clutch pedal but tried it a few more times (planting foot in 6th gear at 60ish) with my foot way away from the clutch pedal and the revs fly right up.

I checked the history of the clutch and have an invoice for Exedy competition spec clutch replacement in 2009 and the flywheel was also skimmed.

There's no clutch burning smell so i'm guessing crank seal weaping onto flywheel? Could also be a dodgey release bearing? Can't be the hydraulic clutch system as the pedal feels fine and the fluid level is up to max..

Also doing some reading there's something documented about a clutch dampner??

The car's only done 44000.

This a common problem?

It's not really new if it was fitted in 2009 and the previous owner might of give it some beans before selling it.
Sounds like you need a new clutch

Of its only slipping under boost you may not smell it till it starts to slip all the time. It maybe oil on the plate. Either way it needs replacing. It may only be a year old. The car being new to you means you have no idea of how it was driven. It may have done drag launches or the like. What sort of power is it running

NEW EXEDY CLUTCH SLIPPING. that was fitted in 2009
even if it was fitted at the end of 2009 then it would still make it atleast 18months old
quality.

ditto was think exactly the same,

Excdy clutch in my opinion are not the best and it could have been driven really hard with lots of launch's,

Buy an AP racing clutch (This is an expensive job so do it right)

Yes ok, 2009 is not technically new but it has only covered 8000 - 12000 miles. Thats a pretty short lifetime.

Are the Exedy's naturally lumpy on pulling off and coming down the gears??

Are you saying the original clutch lasted just 32,000? It was obviously used with some 'enthusiasm'
