Default HKS BOV Problem

Fitted the SSQV 3 today from scoobyworld. Took it for a drive and when it makes its tshhhhh noise it seems to go on for a lot longer than my last on my former scoob. I want a short sharp tssshh (if you follow)??

Does anything look wrong in the pictures below, (note the kink in the vacuum hose)?

Also there was an additional funnel included for recirculation, if i fit this will it give a quieter/sharper noise?

Oh and this is the car:

so the vacuum hose governs the duration the valve is open right? will the filter make a change to the noise?

I always change standard vac hose with samco or similar doesnt kink, more flexible. I would say majority of people run without filter, although it shouldnt restrict it as its designed to work with filter. You might have to adjust spring does the sqv 3 have an adjuster screw on it?? I know when running the sqv 2 on our evo there was no adjustment and i had to dismantle and stretch the spring as much as i could as spring was too soft

Thanks ed. Removed the filter today and no difference, ran a longer piece of hose and made sure no kink but no difference. And no, no change to the noice although as i get used to it it does sound quite funky sometimes when it flutters..

Anyone want to buy it off me? haha

Easy enough to do m8 i was a bit pieved off at spending that sort of money on one we had on evo and having to adjust spring internally. Saying that it did make a big difference does your one not have adjustment screw?? Im not familiar with latest ones

The insert that's changeable in the hks is usually purple, you can change them for what note you prefer to have come out of them, the earlier versions used to have an adjuster on the rear that you could alter the pitch of the sound coming out at what duration.

I think the ssqv/2 had a purple insert, but the ssqv 3 changed to red if i'm not mistaken. You can get different inserts for different sounds, but the ssqv has always been known give a drawn out chirpy sound..

heres a video with the different inserts fitted

personally i've just kept the original and saved my 300 pounds, each to there own though..
