Default Probably a daft question but.....

Will using vpower fuel in my uk spec hawkeye wrx make any difference to performance or am I just wasting my money, and any fuel to avoid?

Thx

Might run a bit smoother than on 95 ron. I use either Tesco momentum or V-power in my WRX, if i use anything less than 97 ron i add octane booster. It seems to have better pick up and i get 3mpg more from using good stuff compared to the 95 ron, so the costs balance out.
Some guys have had trouble with BP Ultimate but i think they've had their cars mapped for V-Power. Personally i've never had any problems with any fuel in mine (though i haven't tried diesel!).

There was a test done on 5th Gear ages ago with 3 different cars and 3 different fuels.

Here's the link.

In the test, Jon Bentley says Ultimate = 97 octane and Optimax = 98 octane.
V-Power wasn't one of the fuels tested but I think it's 99 octane (no doubt I'll be corrected if I'm wrong)

Have a butchers.
