Default HKS HELP PLEASE

iv just got hold of a hks ssqv 3 bov from sumo power . but having trouble with getting it to work . iv got a 97 reg awd turbo running .8 boost but cant get the bov to open its just flutter dumping back to the turbo tryed you tube but no help there . hope some one can help

sorry mate my laptop wont reconise my digi cam for some reason virus most prob . i have it coming of the standard intercooler facing towards the washer bottle and the vacum pipe coming from the inlet manifold . my balieys one worked fine but like the hks noise lol ( bit of a tart i am ) . was told i need to run at least 1 bar boost to work a hks . but sumo power say they work at any boost level ..sorry for no pics tho :-(

To be honest, the only thing that could be wrong with it anyway is the vac pipe?! Have you double checked it's on ok/not split/connected at both ends?

yeh iv checked and triple checked lol tryed 2 now case one is faulty but no diffrence ?. its got a lil filter in the vacum hose tho one that hks supplied with the bov ?

You don't need the filter, so try removing that.

kk mate cheers for this il have to let ya no tomora as iv run out of vacum hose now lol cut it for the filter .

Yeah, that look fine mate.

Try removing the filter and let us know. Is it proper vacuum hose, and won't be collapsing etc?

nope no diffrence mate just pinched my neighbours vacum hose from his one lol still flutter dumping unless in full boost and flat to the floor in 2nd is the only time it trys ?

What boost is your neighbour running?

Try it on his, as it could be down to boost levels, as that is all which controls the valve. Sumo Power may be wrong......

hes running same as me .8 standard . same on his only works at high boost wen flooring it . maybe i do need more boost then . is 1 bar safe with stock internals . im gonna need a remap to as im full japspeed decat and kn fillter .

dont think so was told the for any turbo car . thats wat i fort like the forge one with spring sizes for diffrent boost levels .. im debating weather to strip it down n have a look or just got bk to balieys one ?

I don't think the new 3's are adjustable.

I'd phone up where you got it and get more info from them.
