Alright guys, just looking for some of your expert opinions on this.
I used to own a WR1 a few years back and still have the urge for another impreza! I have a golf gttdi as a daily runner and was looking at maybe a bugeye as a bit of a project- fast road/ possibly track car. Are these the best for modifying or would I be better going for blob eye?

A bug sti would be a good place to start! Depends on your budget really!

Was thinking about spending around £3-4k roughly then it leaves some cash for modifying

Bug STI, cheap, capable of 400 bhp .
If you intend going for more than that, get a WRX as you will be swapping all the bits on it anyway.

Wont be going for anymore than 400bhp. Maybe up to around 350bhp. Yeh heard the engines were good for up to that.

If you only want 350, why not get an already modded WRX, unless you have to have the badge.....You'll save yourself a bit..

Its not just the badge though! Its the six speed box and the better brakes as well.
