Default Malfunction Indicator Lamp

Hi guys,

Really need some help as have just turned my car on and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on (lighting up full not flashing).

Have been reading around and there are so many different thoughts on this.

How far is it safe to drive with it on? Is it OK to drive with it on?

Any experiences at all with this warning?

Thanks

Thanks!

It is an 06.

Was hammering it a bit last weekend but never saw the light. Got in it to head north and noticed that it was on. He sounds just fine but did not want to risk it as it was a 3 hour journey was meant to be doing.

Cool will need to have the codes read with an eobd reader. The light id to say thered a problem but the ecu is pretty clever and will use a default setting to keep the car running. Get it checked as soon as you can but dont be afraid to use the car. Some people drive around with these lights on for months or even years lol

Lol! Had seen a few posts around saying things like it just switched itself off after a few weeks.

Had a bit of a panic about it. Not great at dealing with these issues.

Ok. Took it in and it could be the valves and the air pump. Was given a courtesy car for the week as they need to run more diagnostics on it. Looks like it is going to be expensive but hey ho. Will find out next week what the total damage is.
