Default Air intake option

Hi all, i am new to this site and am longing to know if its poss to put a impreza wrx top mounted air intake onto a 01 plate impreza gx instead of having to cut holes into the plastic air box or buying a induction kit?

do you mean the bonnet scoop? if so this is to feed air to the turbo intercooler, something that you dont have, so it will make zero difference to your car.

As for drilling holes or adding an induction kit, both will have a negative effect on your car due to the introduction of hot dirty air so dont bother

ok thanks Mollymoo666, can you suggest anything that i could do to increase the airflow like how an induction would work to just to try and get a few more ponies out of her.

Thinking about the scoop to the intercooler, could and would it of been poss for subaru to of done this to the non turbo models if they place a fixed panel air filter there in its place along with a style of scoop not necessarily the wrx scoop but so it work like an induction, just feeding the cold air in?

Don't fit any induction kit,Subaru engines are too fragile run with Induction kit.
If you are looking for more ponies i would recommend have look for decatted exhaust and good headers on your GX.

You cannot fit Top mount from WRX,because you don't have turbo and will be in my view pointless.
