Default need help on has the turbo gone or engine

Hi all need some help i have a v1 scooby with the EJ20 with TD05 was out sunday in the car up to see a mate and the car was runing ok but on the way back lost abit of boost but it was saying it was boosting ok on the gague and the oil gague was fine to but there was alot of white smoke out the back when you go on boost got the car home and there was no oil in the engine at all can anyone help has the turbo gone or the engine thanks all if you can help

Take the intake pipe off the turbo and see if there is play in the turbine/shaft, there should be a small amount, if it's gone it will have loads of play in it. If it appears ok get a compression test done before anything else.

there is also other seals on the turbo tho, i had a car in at work recently with very similar symptoms, no power, lots of smoke and low oil....first thing i checked was the shaft which had no play at all, turned out to be a seal on the exhaust housing side.


Whats the coolant level/look like?

had a look at the turbo to day no play in it but it do's not move at all

i had this problem mate get a compression test done start the car up and take oil cap off that can be a sign of piston problem buddy it happened when i had a hole in mine!

could be headgasket, check for oil/water mix
