Default engine removal/refitting

Morning all,

further to my broken start motor bolt saga, i've decided to bite the bullet and that the only way I'm going to sort it properly is to remove the whole engine and get the bit of snapped bolt out that's stuck in the block. Other options re bodging it up don't appeal.

What i could really do with, however, is a guide to removal and refitting of the engine. I appreciate that a lot of stuff is going to be pretty obvious, like drain coolant etc etc, but it woudl be great if anyone could point me to a guide on here (or elsewhere) that lists all the steps in order a la haynes manual... I'm sure there must be a few tips/tricks that will make life a lot easier while i'm doing this!

I've tried searching the technical archive to no avail.
can anyone help please?

cheers,

MArk.

it tells you everything you need to know apart from the very last bit,as you start to split the engine from gearbox you will find that the clutch release bearing is the only thing left holding it,just get a screw driver and flick the release clip out and all will come free.(and so will the fork)

ive never taken out an engine before untill i done mine i followed that guideand to a certian extent was pretty easy it does say remove a lot of stuff that you really dont need to to save time like the headers i wouldnt bother removing them untill your ready to fit the new one just to save a bit of time but if this F£$K whitt can take one out who knows nothing about this sort of thing im pretty sure your be fine

thanks. is that a better bet than removing the allen bolt and using a bolt of the belt cover as other people suggest?

cheers. i do have a considerably shorter backup set of instructions which don't seem to specify removing a few of the bits.
As long as it comes out and goes back in again ok I'm not really fussed either way!
