Default Cruise control for a UK 06 STI

Has anyone ever put cruise control on an STI. I know it was an option on the classics but don't know if it was on the Hawkeye.
I know that the hatch's have it on the steering wheel so as a thought could it put that on my car and mate it to the loom?

Please let me know of any experiences you know of.

Thanks in advance.

I have Cruise control on mine Subaru, which is Bugeye wagon with 4EAT(tiptronic)

But anyways, usually a Non-Cruise control Subaru, has a couple of things missing, which is needed for a Factory Cruise Control unit on the car.

- The Cruise Control actuator, inside the engine bay.
- The Cruise Control module, under the dash.
- Cruise Switch, in the dash.
- And the Cruise Control levers, which are in the steering wheel.

You will need all these installed for a Factory cruise control. So you are probally better off with an aftermarket cruise control system. They are Ugly as heck, but they work. Shop around to see whats the best looking one, and one that needs minimal hacking.

Ha ha I remember years ago my mate bought a ford mk3 cortina, he was made up because it had cruise control. I hadn't heard of it much in those days so went out in the car with him for a demo, well we were on a dual carriage way near here and he started to show me how it worked, it was a simple pull cable like an old choke cable the type that you pull out of the dashboard and twist the **** so it stays pulled out, very crude so anyway he pulled it and the car started to accelerate he was smiling saying yeah it should hold 50mph now, well it didn't and the car just kept accelerating down the road with the acc pedal stuck to the floor he panicked like a headless chicken ( he was a bit of a flapper) I was saying dip the clutch and take it out of gear but he wasn't hearing me in his panic state and was weaving in and out of traffic trying not to hit anything I have never laughed so much in my life, it turned out it was just a choke cable rigged up to the acc pedal and he pulled it out so far it got stuck He never mentioned his cruise control after that
