Exclamation WHICH MODEL/S?!!!

My next car will be a fully forged New Age Blob or Hawk STi, running (if I can find one) over 500/500. But I will buy one that's already been sorted by the previous owner/s, etc.

I'd defo want:

* 2.0L block, not 2.5. (Obviously the owner may have had a 2.1 or 2.35 conversion, which would be fine! )

* AVCS heads

* True Twin Scroll

* 6sp box - with the post-MY04 49:51 DCCD. The UK non-DCCD 50:50 is fine too... But defo don't want the earlier JDM 35:65 DCCD one!

Question: which of the New Age STi models/MYs/UK/JDM satisfy all that above criteria, from the factory (if any)?

Please list any models you know, so I end up with a shortlist of candidates....

Hi Joz
personally i would go for JDM STi v8-v9 if budget allow,or buy cheaply UK STi V8 and get 2.35(EJ22,not de-strokered EJ257).

With twin scroll you have limited selection of Turbo(LM or SC)with single scroll you have nice selection of turbos.

Sure. But I've been in a JDM Blob T.S. and am sold on its delivery. The low-down urge/throttle response is amazing.

I assume there are 500+ capable aftermarket T.S. turbochargers out there though...?

I don't know if SC46 Twin scroll will make 500bhp+,maybe with Meth mix, about the LM500,but not sure if will be laggy on 2.0L(on 2.1 will be less laggy)

I would go with 2.1/2.35 with rotated/twisted setup and you have really car which will do 500bhp easily.

Is the TS version of the SC46 the largest TS turbo out there, then?!

Yeah, that would be the plan - much prefer either of those, to regular 2.0L.

Sure. But is this ultimately more responsive than a non-twisted T.S. setup, for like-for-like bhp outputs?

From SC series i think yes,is it SC46 is biggest,from LM(Litchfield) its LM500

I'm looking too for 2.35 as next upgrade,2.1 with GT30/.62 or .64 AR will be nice and spooly on 2.1(on 2.35 will be nice too) and will make around 500-550bhp+

Bigger .AR(on Garrett cores) will make bigger bhp,but will be not as spooly than with lower .AR

About the which turbo will be more spooly,i think rotated/twisted is way forward,i'm thinking go now for Twisted/rotated setup, but still don't know if will be wise option right now, because i've recently bought DOM3.0XT-R(SC50) and don't know power delivery of this turbo which i have now.

Perhaps I should just buy this?:-

2003 (53) SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI 450bhp Version 8

...And get it remapped to over 500+

I take it the GT30 is a 500+ bhp turbo on a 2.0L/V-Power, right?

...Only kidding - shame it's not got a built motor!

Oh yes, forgot about that. So 500+ on a TS/2.1/2.35/V-Power should be possible?

Hi there,

this turbo is based as standard location GT30 turbo(same as MD321 or SC) and i don't think will do 500bhp,but mainly depends on turbo.

Yeah, didn't think that GT30 was a rotated version of it.

(Plus I knew it wasn't a TS, obviously )

Yes this turbo is based just on GT30 core,i think and its not rotated.

Most people going from TS to Single scroll, due bigger selection of turbos, that's mine view.

Thanks for that nugget.

Shame that there's not more enterprise re. the TS market for the Scoob. As they really do spool up quickly.

Hi Joz

but TS turbos are,but these are just standard location turbos,if you want TS turbo second solution is Rotated Garrett twin scroll.

They are custom, but if you are ask here Mark@Lateral or Kevin@Scoobyclinic he will help you with this.

Personally if you want top end power i would go for bigger .AR,but will be laggier, lower .AR will be spooly.

But again you will need for twin scroll new headers,up pipe and downpipe. If its worth not sure, but from dyno which i have look at Nasioc(GT40R TS) has hit full boost at 4.5k RPM with 500whp,which i think is very nice.
