Default Changing centre diff.

Could anyone give me any pointers on changing the centre diff on a v5 sti? Is there anything I need to replace (gasket, washers ect) or is it all straight forward and simple.

I must admit its not a job I'm looking forward to and there is very little info to be found, I will have to wait for the new one to arrive and hopefully all will be revieled.

Not as simple has just swapping it over, you need to setup the shim thickness's inside to make sure its not to tight

just out of curiosity how much did the new one cost? I think mine needs changing on my 2000 Sport Special. I get a thumping noise when turning after driving for a while. Never when Im on small trips, only after about 20miles or so??

Thanks,

Stu

I've had to pay £150 for a second hand one a new one is £400+, the v5 sti one only fits that model and are hard to come by. You may find that a few different models use the same one you require.
