Question

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was an option to get sharper (ie faster) steering on my MY98 Turbo.
In my (humble) opinion the steering is too damn slow.

Any insights ? Pricing and availability are nice ;-)

Thanks
Simon

You can weight up the steering by putting bigger wheels on or even swapping the steering wheel. This would mean loosing your air-bag though.

Subaru do a quick steering rack as fitted to the 22b and some Type RA's. Better be sitting down though cos they cost about £1400 I believe.

STI 13:1 Quick ratio steering rack...have one on mine. Possibly one of the best mods I've done to it. £1500 fitted.

Hmmm, had heard of the quick steering rack, and that's what i had in mind, didn't know if it was Subaru genuine though.. but 1500£ is a heap of money...

Any other ideas?

Thanks

How about an uprated rear anti roll bar ? It reduces understeer by making the rear end do more work. Requires less steering input for same turn-in and a better balanced car overall.
Anti lift and bump steer mod can also help.
