Engine TEMP 03 wrx STi concern.
Hi new member here! good to join you all, looks like a good community. I have Finally got my self an STi
I was just a little bit concerned about the engine temperature of these engines.. Why is it when i drive my car for an hour and turn it off. ill come back to it 30-45 minutes later and its still in the same spot on the gauge maybe a slight drop ? Is this correct ? Might be worrying a little bit to much..
Ideally i would like to maybe upgrade to an alloy radiator or put a fan switch somewhere or some way of making the engine a bit cooler. Any advice?
Regards Tom.

Welcome mate, you've bought the right car, a blobeye sti, but i'm bias.
These engines do take longer to cool down than others but as long as the engine isn't overheating or anything then there's nothing to worry about.

Thank you for your reply. No overheating issues at all, everything seems spot on. Any advice regarding upgrading the cooling to the engine & turbo?

You could get a alloy radiator but, personally, if something's not broken then i wouldn't fix it.
Another thing you could buy to keep under bonnet temperatures down is a turbo heat shield.

Very true mate! Think i am trying to go for the EXTRA reliability for my own peace of mind. I'll have a little read up about things see what people have done also. Is there any recommended places i could purchase upgraded bits from on the internet which also is priced well?
