Thing is, why would you want to sit in neutral revving the car (BOV noise or no BOV noise)? Or are there laydeez at Maccy's to impress?

Sorry OP, couldn't resist

P.S. I'm not *******. Really I'm not. Go easy on me.

Could just need a good clean as they can get clogged up with dirt and oil, or maybe a split in the pipe to the valve.

Seriously, doesn't the BOV need to be under engine load to do its thang? Or can the inlet tract still become suitably energised with charged air, even in neutral? Can't think.

Sure.

I too have a VTA BOV, but never tried that. I'm intruiged now; think I might try it...... In a deserted car park lol.

(Thing is mine must be running a stiff spring, as it only makes its dumping noise at high boost/WOT (which I like). So that 'neutral test' prob won't work for me. )

Mine was an adjustable one probably ,universal fit. I have another adjustable one now that I bought cheap as not working and am trying to get it gonng again. Have stripped it down and given it a good clean, attracted the spring VERY slightly as they can shrink a little over time causing problems. I have also wrapped the adjuster screw with ptfe tap to stop any boost leaks from there. Just need to fit it again and fingers crossed it will work.

No I know. Just kidding.

Well, if it used to do it and now doesn't, then presumably something has indeed changed.

Does it still (audibly) dump when driving e.g. coming off boost/with a snapped shut throttle? Are you saying it now happens later... but when driving i.e when it 'matters'?
