Question Help me identify the parts in the Subaru Gasket kit! :)

Hi Guys,

I've got a genuine Subaru gasket kit for a v5/v6 STI, only problem is I don't know what half of them are, and I need to know as I'm building my engine up!

Hopefully this will help others!

Please state the picture number in any replies

UPDATE: Just #16, #17 and #25 outstanding.

#1 (part no BH3882G) = Front crankshaft oil seal


#2 (part no BH5885F) = Exhaust camshaft oil seal (why do I have four!!??)


#3 (5cm) = Oil filler cap seal


#4 = Rocker breathers


#5 = Coolant crossover pipe


#6 (4.5cm) = AVCS pulley cover seal


#7 (6cm) = Thermostat seal


#8 = Oil filler neck


#9 (2.4cm) = Sump oil return seal


#10 (2.4cm) = Oil pump / block seal


#11 (2.3cm) = Oil pickup pipe seal


#12 = Inner timing cover bolts


#13 (1.5cm) = AVCS oil feed


#14 (1.6cm) = Oil / coolant


#15 (1.4cm) = Dip stick


#16 (2.6cm)


#17 (2.9cm)


#18 (part no BH0269H) = Intake camshaft oil seal


#19 = Modine / block seal


#20 = Water pump dust seal


#21 = Timing cover


#22 = Timing cover


#23 = Inner timing covers (rear)


#24 = Rocker cover


#25


#26 = Inlet manifold gasket


#27 = Throttle body


#28 = Water pump


#29 = Oil pump inserts

hi newbie here i see your good at identifying things...i have a chance to buy a subaru and the guy who has it says iys a rare car...aparently iys 1 of 25 and a prodrive...ever heard of these cars or is it a tale as i thought the ltd editions were in their 100s...thanx

bump - btw I don't think merlin24's suggestion of 'AVCS Pulley' is correct, what the hell is an AVCS pulley...

Merlin24 is correct, that is the o ring that seals the metal plate to pulley, which when removed exposes the retaining bolt to remove the AVC's pulley from the camshaft.

Also 18 on your list is the matching oil seals for inlet AVC's pulleys, hence why you have 4 inlet / exh oil seals, which are non AVC's seals, this kit appears to cover a lot later engines than V5/ 6.

AVC's pulley is the cam pulley that houses the variable valve control internals, operated by engine oil pressure, controlled via an ecu operated solonoid.
