hi av bin having probs since i got the car, its a 2001 wrx uk bug eye..the car doesnt pull strong as when driving it doesnt feel like the turbo is pulling as it should, its boosting at about 0.7 and the boost tolls off abit when in a higher gear then 1st and 2nd. av checked all the boost pipes as i broke the turbo inlet pipe and i replaced it with a after market one and i noticed in the turbo inlet that they was black oil in the area where the turbines are .av cleaned the boost solenoid plus theres no other probs.the car has bin guttles since i got it last week..when i put my foot down and when the turbo comes in i can here a loud squealing noise coming from the front of car,to me i think its the turbo,

the only mods to the engine side that i know of is a s/s exhaust from down pipe cat right back.forge dv with a new spring.thants it.
its pI@@ing me of as my mates 1.4 car can keep up with me


any info or any help or if any one lives near barrow in furnes that can help..please help..cheers

you going to get a lot of conflicting advice on here. could be ecu playing safe retarding the timing due to faulty maf, could be a faulty turbo, could be faulty wiring. you need to take your car to a good subaru mechanic to have your problem diagnosed properly. yes it will cost money but it will be a helluva lot cheaper than a new turbo or worst case scenario a new engine.
