gearbox neutral switch fault

gearbox neutral switch fault
hi all whats the symptoms if a gearbox neutral senser switch is on its way out, (95wrx turbo) will it go straight into limp mode or will it cause missfires and feel like the car is holding back,,

Well its not a NPS, those are only on new age cars, I could go outside now, rip into the gearbox on my type R and there wont be one, do the same with the spec c and presto, its there
I would look at your air/fuel ratio sensor or maf, both these can cause hesitation higher up the rev range.

mafless, no boost leaks, checked esl 3 times with dynamix, no zorst leaks, changed plugs to pfr7b, new coil packs, new ignighter pack, new boost sol, no vac leaks, new actuator, ran an mbc (no change) so today at the 555 i was advised to change the nps as they can cause the miss fire,., so what do you reckon

I also have a JDM MY95 WRX.
I have a switch in the gearbox which has a nylon spring loaded centre. Surely this is the NPS.
If not, what could it be?
