Default how to tell sti 555 estate or just sti

looking at an sti estate in blue on a 96 plate,how can i tell if its an sti 555 as no badges on the car,and the owner does not no himself,only seen pics of the car, was wondering if you could tell of the pics before i go and see it.thanks ste

no its not the one on pistonheads looks exatly the same as that one,

Id say that its a good possibilty! That is a trade mark colour for the 555. Especially in the wagons

Get the chassis number off the seller and do a check on it, the paint code should be 53c (555 blue) on the small metal plate, fixed to the top of the passenger side suspension.

thanks for the help guys,its a really cheap car so worth buying anyway,would tell you the price but if i sell it on after i have used it for abit people would no what i paid for it, and it would not sell.thanks ste

just got the car home and the paint code is 53c trim code is 518, and the model number is gf8c58d,transmission code ty752vb4aa,engine code ej20gdw5pe,so is it a 555 or just an sti.thanks ste

Sorry I meant option code 518 is the right trim code though but not definative

You need 62/62C Option code for a 555, Option code 61/61C is your bogger STi.

Looks like a cracking motor anyway so good either way IMHO

not as good as yours mate,but for what i paid for it it was a bargain,as it has an oil leek on top of the engine somewere and its dripping on the manifold,will get some pics tomorrow,when i find the leek,but dont think its that bad as just drove 220 miles home in it and it ran perfect and drove great,thanks ste mileage is 92k,buy the way what psi should it boost at standerd
