I am trying to remove the DOJ/CV Joint from my front drive shaft on a 1996 Impreza WRX wagon but I cant see any spring/circlip retaining it on the shaft. I dont want to batter it as I do not want to damage the CV joint unless it just needs a good smash to get it off. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove it or if they are part of the drive shaft?
I am changing the boots so before buying a cone to stretch the gaiter over I'd like to get them off to give them a good clean up and grease and not bother trying to get a cone.
