Will be buying a mocal stat plate and need to know do i remove the standard cooler put the stat plate on the block with the oil filter on the bottom and pipe of to the new cooler OR do i leave the standard cooler in place?????
am i right in thinking you are to replace the standard cooler on a rebuild anyway

You should really replace the Oil Modine Cooler when rebuilding as it is a nice hiding place for bits of the old engine!
If you remove it totally and only use the oil stat plate and remote oil cooler your oil will take a little longer to warm up from cold, as this is when most engine wear occurs I'd leave it in place, although removing it does give you more room!
