Which is the Dials Coolant Sensor, and ECU temp sensor??

Just checking as my ECU temp sensor is playing up and I want to know what I`m looking for to check before I get a new sensor (incase its wiring).

the sensor in pic a is just the temperature sender unit, the coolant sensor should be next to this one on the crossover pipe.
