Default Walbro fitting question

Hi all,

I have just fitted a Walbro fuel pump to my my95 classic.

When I was fitting it the wires from the plug where slightly to short so I have had to use butt connectors and extra wire.

Unfortunatley I did not have any elec tape to wrap the connectors, will this be ok with it being in the fuel? its not going to spark in anyway and blow my car up?

I have started the car and ran it for a few mins then reversed it down my drive with no problems, just dont want it setting a light!!

It's 12V not 35 kV... most just twist and go, me I'd fit neoprene "toggies" over them, but that's just me...

If you put tape on it, it will just come off, as soon as the fuel splashes onto it.
