i have just bought K&N kit for cleaning my hyperflow cold air intake filter but on hyperflow website it says dont use filter cleaner designed for cotton type air filters as this could damage the foam and in turn damage the engine. im not sure from the instructions that this kit is ok for foam filters - can any one confirm if this will be ok or suggest a cleaner/re-oil kit for the hyperflow system. i dont think it has been done for 3 years/12000 miles. thanks

 

Cleaner - use brake cleaner.
As for a filter oil, I've used Shell Advance Filter
