Looks like a TD04L to me too........do you have any reciepts for any work carried out, injectors, fuel pump, STi intercooler etc. These would have to be changed for a different turbo .

Thanks guys, yeah its got an STI TMIC, no receipts for injectors, although i do have a dyno reading, 260bhp.

I believe its a full through exhaust as its loud as **** and never stops popping (which pisses me off)

I see on your pic Jura11 there is more writing further round, might have to get the toold out and remove some gubbings to access and find out, but it does look like the one in your picture.

was only wondering as if it was standard i was looking to upgrade, with fuel pump and injectors. Would be happy with around 330bhp, drivable yet fast enough to blitz my mothers Audi S3..

From TD04 you will see max 270-280bhp,you must remove turbo and you will see what turbo you have (or just intake pipe)

Great turbo for you will be something like VF30,VF34,VF35 which are good for 330-350bhp with supported mods.

Cheers buddy, so all i need is a bigger turbo, fuel pump, thinking pink injectors and a re-map... this should get me in the 300's.

Does your Exhaust pop all the time when cruising in gear and let off accelerator?

Yes you will need this from above:

STi pink injectors,Walbro pump,Turbo(VF30,VF34,VF35 or VF48) plus remap and you will see around 330-350bhp with this.

This popping in exhaust cause if you are running DV VTA or if you are have mapped pops and bangs, who mapped this car before?

I would recommend get your car mapped this person which mapped before, due you will pay little bit lower price due just tweak map.

What is DV VTA??

I dont know why anyone would map a car to do this, especially all the time... i nearly kill grannys as i drive down the road.

It was mapped by either Mocom Racing or Clive Atthowe Tuning in Essex, never heard of them but i am moving back to Essex next week so could be an idea to take it to him.

Yes i do and yes it dumps to atmosphere, its a bailey.

I do like the noise of the dump valve but not an excessive one, what are pro's and cons of recirculating etc. I do love the Chirp DV. You think this could be possibly causing the Popping.?

OEM recirc is best or even Forge recirc is good too.

Bailey is not the best(in my view is worst),i would recommend Forge VTA DV which seems are best for money.

Pro and cons of recirc is here few threads about this

Some say it can, I've blanked my vta off but it still pops and bangs. My car pops a lot when cruising downhill in too low a gear! Insane pops.

Just get a mapper to map for the VTA if you want to keep the cool VTA sound.
