hi to all, just to be short I've just brought my first subaru model WRX Sti on an 02 plate. only had it four days and only done 125 miles in her, anyhow always wanted one and now got one , the main reason for my purchase was the excellent history that shes got, full service and one owner, however I've just noticed that a light has appeared on the instrument panel a picture of a gear box type picture, upon looking in the book it states not to drive as there is a problem with the emissions , should I start to worry or just take the car back, not sure what to do, any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated , kind regards supasumo

 

Engine management light ? could be a number of things. do you run an aftermarket exhaust or air intake ?

 

What fuel you put in???

 

in reply to the first question , standard pipe infact Im told that my scoob hasnt been modified in any way, secondly my first petrol intake was tesco 99, then got bollocked by my nephew who insisted that I use shell V . Hope this helps

 

Probably really need to get a Code Reader on there to see what's brought the EML on.

 

think Ill do just that kewe , looks like a visit to the garage then for me, just hope its something small and not too expensive otherwise the car will be going back lol. cheers anyhow, heres hoping !!!!!!!!!!
