Default Need a new radiator

Hi all,

Had all the belts done about 7 months ago and recently noticed loads of coolant spray along the top of the radiator.

Spoke to my mechanic and he advised me that the top rubber seal in the radiator is gone.

Been looking for a new radiator and found there is a difference between the bug and the blob.

The cheapest I found on fleaBay is £85+delivery (standard radiator).
However, for £30 more I could get a aluminium 42mm thick radiator.

Should I just get the standard one or spend that £30 extra?

What bhp are you running? to be honest a standard unit will be fine.

Just PPP WRX not thinking of upgrading to the max or anything.
Just want to know if the extra £30 worth getting??
Not sure if it will boost the price a bit when selling the car in the future as well...

So no major boost at all, for the extra £30 it will be worth going for the alloy one.

Def get alloy one. I paid the extra 30-40quid and got the 42mm, its much better made, cools better and no more splits in plastic etc.
Plus it looks a lot better.

Speak to japspeed.

When my classic went after 11 years, I checked out e-bay, then asked a local radiator specialist. he sold me one identical tro what was on it, for £64 including a two-year guarantee and two free decent Jubilee clips.

I was so closed buying the wrong one.
I too was told at the start that they should be around £40-£50 for a new rad.
It was slowly I found out that the classic, bug and the blob are different.

Forgot to say, mine's 400bhp+ on a standard rad, no problems.
