Default The remapper that did my car

Well Ive just had my 53 plate STI done from its standard Prodrive to an Ecutek remapped to 350 at Tracktive Solutions Melton Mowbray near Leicester. It is amazing and has made a huge difference for racing in sprints. There are several others that are good to be fair, and loads of people on here will recommend their favourite. Richard, the owner of Tracktive is often called the guru for his skill with remapping. Its only 50 more bhp on mine but the difference is noticeable, AND I get an extra 40 miles to the tank so its all good! I did have new headers ceramic coated and a miltek catback exhaust with a resonance chamber instead of a silencer which also helped, but I was impressed with how professional Richard is and how comfortable his waiting room is. V. important when you are travelling a distance and waiting for your car. So thats my opinion for what its worth. All of the above mean the car still passes the MOT, and its actually quieter for track noise tests which is unexpected. And I didnt lose the scooby burble. Liz

Hi mate I had mine mapped by Paul at Zen.
http://www.zenperformance.co.uk/

Very good at his job, a quite bloke but he definatly knows what he's talkin about, I sprung an oil leak while there and he diagnosed the problem and advised me what to do. Would definatly recommend him.

Engine mapper AKA Graham .....he can also come to you. £225 with open source does exactly the same thing as Ecutek ,but with out any silly license fee's.

He is also responsible for mapping the STI SALOON which broke the Isle of man TT record for average speed of 113MPH.

Ecutek only on that year of car I am afraid so it rules out any open source mapper.

Paul at Zen would be my recommendation.

It's a good option if the budget is very tight and your mods match the Prodrive cars. But, I would get it checked ou to make sure it is happy with it, fueling right and det free.

The 99 cars even on Ecutek have a certain failure rate for flashing. A drop in voltage will kill the chip on the ECU and considering the amount of flashing you have to do to map the cars I wouldn't recommend it. At the current vat duty an Ecutek map will cost £660 all in plus dyno time usually or such like.

My suggestion is to seriously consider going to a Simtek fitted and mapped at £1074 all in including dyno time if you want at Teg Sport's dyno.

You'll be running mafless too with no limitation to the amount of power you can run, (map sensor capable of reading 1.7 bar approx.)

Give me a ring if you want to discuss the details or need any advice, very happy to help.

Graham

I think it's about 5% the failure rate. I'm not sure how many would carry spare ecus, but yes potentially and whether they charge you for the privilege of course.

Have a chat with one of the Ecutek guys about it.

Graham
