Trouble fitting sti clocks!!
Hi, i bought some hawkeye sti sweeping clocks for my 05 widetrack blobeye sti. Tried to fit them today but found that the green plug on the fuel gauge side is different and would not fit. Both other plugs were fine. Does anyone know a way round this?? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Hey,
You need to file down the small edges which stick out of the plug, so you are just left with the rectangle plug with no ridges on it. It will then fit in fine.
You also need to disconnect one of the wires on the other small plug, this is because this carries the power wire to the light on the normal clocks, you do not need this wire as the new clocks are lit a different way, if you do not snip it you will end up with a constant buzzing noise. Not sure from memory which wire it was, do a search as plenty of people have done it.
You may also have some issues with the abs light and handbrake light coming on as on some models the sensors are actually reversed; not sure if your model is affected, mine was not but I was swapping the guages in my car which was a hawkeye with other hawkeye clocks. The rear dif temperature light will also come on, you can ground the wire for this to make it go off.
Good luck.

I'm about to do the same to my Widetrack 54 Blobeye, but would like to know before I do replace them.
Cheers.

If fitting the clocks to a pre widetrack then there is a lot more work involved, you have to snip a wire, trim a plug as well as some grounding, relay fitting and signal reversing.
Because the widetrack has DCCD, the rear diff temp sensor isn't an issue and neither is the ABS or Handbrake light as they use the same on/off signal as the hawk.
So all in all, hawkeye clocks into a widetrack blob, snip a wire and trim a plug.
