Default brembo brakes

Right Then People, Lets See How Many Peeps Can Answer This Correctly,

I have a 2008 wrx hatchback, the standard brakes are front and rear sliding calipers, yea i know they are crap.
i want to fit brembos front and rear. I know the fronts will be an easy fitment , but will the backs be the same as it has nonvented disc's on rear, and brembos are vented, please no stupid answer's as i want to carry out this mod.
cheers scoobymike

I know that Chris at CDF has a fitting kit for classics. He probably has or can fabricate something for a hatchback.

This is the kit for classics http://shop.motorsport-developments....-kit-976-p.asp

no they wont fit and afaik there is no kit to allow you to fit them,my mate with a 2008 wrxS has just had the same problem trying to upgrade the rear calipers,he was told he would have to replace the hubs and everything else to fit new calipers.

I have converted 3 WRX's to STI calipers, front & rear.
You can fit Brembo STI calipers & disc's on the rear of the Hatch WRX, as long as there calipers & disc's form the Hatch not a Hawkeye, you will have to remove the brake splash shields, there only spot welded on, the hatch wrx & sti have the same dia handbrake shoes, so no issues there, the OE disc's are dual drilled for 114mm & 100mm stud pattern, you will also need the caliper mounting bolts also, as the single pot sliding caliper bolts won't fit the Brembo's.

Default brembo brakes

hi motors gt.
i want to fit the gold brembos as on 2002/2006 sti, not black ones as fitted on 2008 sti hatch.
i have looked at the back and my sliding calipers look very much like early classic rear's. so i thought i could use the brembo conversion for a classic on rear of hatch, would this be poss, i have fitted many classic rear brembo conversions on customers cars. so i have the nowhow
i know the fronts are a simple bolt on, but i need to know before buying
best regards mike

What PCD is the hatch? As I have a full set of Brembo STi calipers with part worn pads and 100 PCD GDA disks for sale at the right price.

hatch wrx is 100 pcd
Hatch sti is 114 pcd

The rear caliper and hub setup on a hatch is much different to previous versions. the fronts will fit but the rears wont

Hi Mike
As stated, by myself & Rob, the Hatch rear caliper / hub are a totally different animal to non Hatch, the previous rear gold brembo's will not bolt on to the hatch bolt brackets, hole centre's are differerent & hub to caliper spacings, if you made a one off conversion adaptor is the only way.
It would be easier to buy a Hatch rear calipers 2nd hand as they usually don't fetch much as they don't fit any other Subaru.

Plus don't just fit the front brembo's with the std sliding caliper rears, the car is massively unbalanced under hard braking.
