Default ECU TEK and AVCR BOOST CONTROLLER

Hi, I would like to fit an after market boost controller to MY51 bugeye with ecu tek3 remap (heated rear screen selected maps) Can i just disconnect the factory solenoid and fit my avcr boost controller in its place? or will this throw a fault code? I would like more control over my boost in various conditions, cold starts, in gear boost control, ect ect. Thanks in advance

You can replace your boost solenoid with the Apexi one. You also need the Apexi map sensor. Saying all that it needs to be setup properly to prevent damage etc.

you can fit and wire the AVCR and boost solenoid and map sensor etc for AVCR.. but leave the OE boost solenoid connected electrically but take vac lines off, you need the leave the map sensor plumbed and plugged in.

Really though it needs setting up with detcans, wideband to ensure it is not boosting earlier or higher than the remap.. Assuming the remap was done well, you will gain nothing by fitting the AVCR other than a nice display.

Thank you both for your information, and i understand your concerns with boost limits (i have wideband and det cans, so can check for bot afr and detonation) My last question is, and this is probably the main one, How do i kno what "map" im on (ie high or low boost map) as they are switchable, Can i assume the car will be running the same settings on both maps and its just high and low boost that changes, or will i hit boost cut on the low boost setting if it runs high boost on that? thanks again

Bug wrx TD04 boost levels can simply be controlled by the very capable DENSO ECU and a 3-port. The AVCR is simply overkill for such a small turbo IMHO.

I'd spend money on something that the bug wrx doesn't do well..........like braking and cornering

All IMHO

EH? fit ye on aboot min? my car handles better than any ive had before, and ive had a few. and who said i paid for the boost controller? how much will it cost to adjust the boost via the ecu and who can do that? because i dont have the means atm. And ive never ran it out of brakes yet, but then they are not standard, and niether is my car or the turbo.
