Engine blown need advice from ppl in the know..
Block has a lovely big speed hole in it. Cars a 96 jdm wrx v-limited.
My options that have been explained to me are:
1.New version 8 block with my heads etc
2.Full sti complete engine swap from a 98 sti type r 70k kms
Can anyone shed light on to my situation and say what they would do? Ideally i would like to attain more power from what i do here so as i can treat the whole thing as an upgrade from the engine i had so i won't feel so bad!!
Input please???

Depends on your budget.
Te engine in my RA went 20 miles after i'd bought it, so replacing with a second hand engine was my only option at the time. If you've got the money for a rebuild, do it. If you've got the money to uprate the internals at the same time, even better.

What power are you after as your gearbox will be the weak link. Generally engines are good for 300bhp+
To run the Type R engine are you also going for the ecu turbo etc?
Best bet is to phone some of the well know names on here - API, the clinic, etc

Got a quote for the sti engine bought and fitted for 1500...
If i just replace the block il be left with what i already had plus im worried there is an ecu problem as she was jumping in first gear on boost which caused the damage...
