Default broken engine mount 06 STi

Hoping for a bit of advice - a friend of mine has a broken engine mount on his 06 STi and was wondering if this can be replaced in the car or does the engine have to be dropped to do this ??
Its the mount on the nearside front

Would be grateful for any advice

thanks

Just need to free the engine and jack it up to get your hand in to pull out and replace. **** of a job as space is tight.

And how the **** did you break it !

There are online guide to upgrading engine mounts if you do a search

PMSL ! someones bending you over lol

You can buy in singles or pairs, a pair being c.£145 for the uprated RCM supplied ones. An hour to fit shouldn't cost more than c.£200 supplied and fitted. Whoever quoted you that needs a fookin reality check !

i knew i was gonna get ripped off, i didnt realise that much :/

that someone would be Haddocks of Colchester, the old Subaru main dealer and still a subaru service centre (hence knowing id get a shafting)

bugger it, i was so annoyed at causing the damage i just got them to do it rather than get some quotes... will teach me to be stupid..
