Default Does the up-pipe in hawkeye STI Type UK have a cat?

Hi

I know the standard hawkeye STI Type UK definitely has two cats - one in the centre pipe (referred to as the rear 2nd cat) and one bigger main one in the downpipe, leading to the turbo outlet.

I know the older WRX newage definitely has a "pre-cat" in the up-pipe, leading from the exhaust manifold/header to the turbo inlet. Does the STI also have some kind of cat in this up-pipe too (meaning in total it has three cats)?

I have the PPP which has already removed the 2nd rear cat, leaving me definitely with the 1st main downpipe cat. Just wondered if I also had a third cat in the up-pipe?

Thanks for any help. I'm still learning

I'm pretty sure the STI hawk is the same as the WRX hawk - No cat in the up-pipe mate.

Bug and blob do have one but Hawk doesn't mate

Cheers mate as I wasnt sure whether buying a decat up-pipe would be a waste of money if my up-pipe was already decatted Thanks.

Yeah no need mate. You can still replace it with a better pipe. There's a guy on here called Harvey smith - he does a new up pipe which is loads better than the standard on. Helps funnel the exhaust gases which will help improve your turbos performance. There's a lot of crap up-pipes around, his is worth the money

Cheers

Thanks. Do you recommend I just change the downpipe and possibly panel filter? Is there anything else you recommend changing in order to achieve another ~20bhp and lbs.ft? Are bigger fuel injectors only really required for higher power?
