Default Annoying revving problem..

Ok so in 1st gear when I pull off and build revs up and put clutch in to change gear, the revs will come down very very slowly until I release clutch or come to a stop. But in other gears it's ok. And this only happens when the car is fully warmed up, if the gauge shows that the water temp is not fully warm then in 1st gear when I dip clutch the revs drop nice and easily.

Strange!!

Mine is the opposite, does it first thing in the morning when the engine is cold and very occasionally when the engine is warm. As soon as I come to a dead stop they come down to idle.

I will watch with interest

I read somewhere once that the Impreza has a delay in rev drop built in to the ECU to aid shifting i.e. less speed drop when changing gears.

Oh. Maybe not that then. Have you checked the clutch cable isn't all gunked up? Try and spray some lube on it or something.

Hopefully someone will know the answer or be able to help more, fingers crossed
