Ok so I'm getting my crank pulley tomorrow, now when you attach the new pulley I hear you need to tighten at the right torque?

What tools are needed and how do you make sure it's the right torque? My mechanic wants to know if it's how many degrees you need to turn it and if so then how much?

 

B: INSTALLATION
1) Install the crankshaft pulley.

(1) Clean the crankshaft pulley thread using an
air gun.
(2) Apply engine oil to the crankshaft pulley bolt
seat and thread.
(3) Tighten the bolt temporarily with tightening
torque of 44 N·m (4.5 kgf-m, 33 ft-lb).
(4) Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt.
Tightening torque:
127 N·m (13.0 kgf-m, 94.0 ft-lb)

 

Exactly as above, when you torque from 33 to 94lbs it should take 45 degrees or more you can use the marks on the belt cover to measure this.

 

Thanks, I'll note down 45 degrees, but how much do you turn to get to 33 ft lb first? Before tightening properly?

 

No degrees for that just set the torque wrench.The minimum degrees to achieve 94 lbs from 33lbs is just to let you know the bolt is still good.So apart from that its all done by the torque bar really.

 

Ah ok mate so simple really.. Set to 33lbs, then adjust to 94lbs and turn 45 degrees to make sure the bolt is good?

 

Yep thats it once you get to 94lbs dont turn it any more as long as the second torque( 33lbs to 94lbs) took 45 degrees or more its job done
