Default HID Headlight Problem!

Hi, bought a '99 lassic Impreza at the beginning of the year fitted with a HID headlight conversion. Not my thing but the car was otherwise perfect. Driving home noticed although the lights worked I didn't have 'Full Beam' or the 'Flash' facility. Any suggestions?, other than ripping the whole lot out and starting again. Any help greatly appreciated.

As above, or it could be the electronic relay not working.

SOME kits, advertised as "Plug and Play" are not. They need the H4 connector pins removed and replaced in the right order for it to work.

There is no easy way to do that, just "suck it and see", (Not literally).

When I did one for a mate, we started off with NOTHING working.

First try out produced the effect you have described, second got main and dip but to the wrong functions, (ie: wrong way round), and third time was lucky.

I'd suggest uncovering the connector, which is probably somewhere behind the nearside light, and re-making the connection with the pins in different places. A sharp point can be used to depress the tang that holds them in place.
