As long as the big ends haven't smashed the crank I'd go for rebuild. It's gonna be cheaper for rebuild than a new engine. And to be fair even if it has id still go for rebuild! You can't trust a second hand engine, you'll probably end up rebuilding that too! If you go down the new engine route your still gonna need to swap all your bits over like manifolds, fuel lines, ancillaries etc. as you'll only get a short engine. Rebuilding yours also gives you the option of upgrading internals should you want to and depending on your budget. Probably pay to stick a clutch on too as engines out on the floor

Can't recommend anywhere in Kent as I'm in Dorset.
