Just rebuilt my engine as I bought it with bottom end gone, got it on road last satutday and all was well, now a week in and it started knocking (not the same as bottom end a lot faster) doesn't come in staight away when I start it it takes around 30 seconds to start knocking then when revved to around 1500 revs it sounds like a slight rattling, I have a vid of it which I will post later as I'm on phone at min, before I noticed this noise, I would drive it and when I slowed down to a stop oil light flashed and cut out which I'm guessing means it was losing oil pressure, its a 95 wrx 2.0 t if that helps. Any ideas on what this is would be appreciatd thanks

Cal

Sounds like a big end bearing problem to me, especially if the oil light has come on, drop the oil into a clean container, drain it through a clean cloth if possible, if you have had a bearing problem again it will be contaminated with bronze debris from the bearings.

Sounds very much like big ends to me, drop the oil as I said, it will only take 10 mins and you will know then.

its not poss just to rebuild if the crank is damaged, a polish at least is required. A slight fault or contamination in the block will destroy the work you have done.
