Default Cleaning a bare block

Hi all,

I'm looking for some tips to clean a bare closed desk block.

And if you have some before and after pics, to show off all your hard work

Chris

Check out dazdavies's "550bhp monster..." thread. He recently refurbed his block, etc....

i used a parts cleaner to lift the main crap off and then some carb cleaner and wire wool to clean up the stubbor parts. It made loads of difference and i can now touch the block without getting oily or grimy

i have been doing my replacement block ready for this weekend. I used Autosmart G101 & a engine degreaser from Reflection Perfection & a firm bristled brush & elbow grease. Came up a treat & then gave it a good few coats of ally engine enamel.
Used a flat block & wet & dry to clean the headgasket area ready for the new ones etc.
All looking pretty good.

Just got the intake manifold & the heads to clean & spray when they come off tomorrow

ps. prodriverules - that engine looks mint mate
