Default Cold Ticking

Afternoon all! Just wanna clarify if this is slap or not. 2005 wrx 66000 miles , ok so car starts fine from cold, idles with no noises from cold yet if i pull away there is a faint ticking like speedo cable on an old car is loose but only under load. is it the dreaded or something else? goes away once temp needle starts rising say 2mins of driving. Any ideas? lifters?

Got oil change coming up next month,i`ve been using 5w40 helix ultra but as an experiment will be using millers cfs 10w40. i`m thinking if there`s not any piston slap then it could be a bit of wear up top, hence a 10 instead of a 5w could get rid of some noise from cold start?

yeh from what ive heard 5w 40 is not the best way to go, its a bit thin i think. 10w 40 is the way to go, millers is good but castrols even better!
