Default Fitting a water temperature gauge help please

Hi,

Just purchased a Spa Duel gauge for my classic but just wondering what was the best way to fit the temp sensor? Is there a modified hose i can get with a 1/8 thread so the sensor can fit in that or do i have to fit it somewhere else?

Gavin

Gav you will cut the pipe and fit an adaptor tube in between, place like demon tweeks should be able to supply this.

I have as blue anodised adapter with that thread that you fit in the top radiator hose spare. You can have it for 15 plus postage. Pm me if interested.

Look at the post above yours: matey is offering you one, the right size, cheap.

I'd ****** his hand off.

Oh, and budget for a new top-hose: once you've finished manipulating your old one, it may be fekked. That's what happened to mine: fitted a sender like you are doing, top hose split two days later

i wouldnt bodge hoses fitting adaptor tubes and introducing more potential leak areas with more hose clip joins. Just drill and tap the thermostat housing, it will look better, give a more acurate "engine temperature" as apposed to "top hose temp", and ultimatly will be more reliable.
