Default Engine undertray.........

Just in the middle of an oil change and had to remove it to get my stubborn oil filter off. Hadn't realised how much they weigh so was thinking of leaving it off! Are there any detrimental issues in leaving it off?

Thoughts?

Lots leave them off - I certainly do, They do offer some protection from dirt etc. but nowt else, GRD did an oil temp test on/off and it was cooler off.

They keep engine bay temps down as well as providing protection and aerodynamics under the car.

I have left mine on for the reasons above & because they must have put it on for a reason,as most car companies like to save as much money as possible when it comes to making a car.

Dont need to worry about leaking fluids ,as it is checked most days before i go out for a drive and coolant/oil,etc are all bang on

I,ve left mine on but it is a bit of a pain removing it to do an oil change. Removing it is the hardest part of doing an oil change. Steve.

It is a bit of a pain steve ,but 4 x 12 mm bolts,2 x screws at the side & 2 x clips holding on to the gearbox ,only takes 5 - 10 mins tops
