Default New radiator choice?

Hi all, i am looking to replace my radiator. It looks like it has been replaced before at some point. It has some extra inlets/outlets that have been crimped over, possibly from an auto.
So im looking to replace.
Ive seen a few deals in the traders and group buy section but am a bit confused about core size and the lack of a rad cap.
I have minimum mods.

What core size is best? Does too large lead to overcooling?

Why no rad cap? I thought this was an overpressure device?

Thanks in advance.
JM.

Mine, for a 98 classic, came from a local dealer, supplied next day, £64, including two new decent Jubilee clips and a 2-year guarantee.

It was IDENTICAL to the one I took off, except not falling to bits, LOL.

I removed both top, and bottom plates, and Hammerited them black, before refitting with all stainless bolts.

Sorry, forgot to put that it's an ally rad I'm looking for.
Standard ones look cheap enough, thanks.

Your choice.

the ally ones offer no advantages AFAIK, and can cause probs with fitting
