Motor cuts out... help!!
My scooby 2000 turbo will start, run for a minute then cut out. We checked the fuel relays...fine. We check the fuel pump by wiring it up directly to the battery...fine. reconnected the fuel pump normally and everything was fine for a day until yesterday when same problem happened: it started and ran for 30 secs and cut out.
What's the matter with my motor? We're a bit confused with this? Someone suggested the crankshaft sensor. Could it be that??
all we know is that the fuel is not getting to the engine meaning that when it cuts out the motor is depressurised. Why is the fuel not getting to engine??
Anyone on Scoobynet had this type of problem before?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with my uk classic, turned out its the MAF sensor. As it runs when its dis-connected. plus its thrown up an error code relating to the MAF.
It ran for 30seconds or so and cut its self out, at first I thought it was the knock sensor or 02 sensor. commonplace for them to break apparently..
Subaru are charging £340.00 inc vat for the MAF :0 I can't seem to find one anywhere else! I could cry..

would you recommend any suppliers? As Subaru seem intent on charging a fortune I'm after a new item too not used.
I know the later classics (98+ I think) use a different configuration of MAF, they seem a lot cheaper. But the earlier cars like mine (1997) use the more expensive variants..

I once had a fuel pump relay that was marginal. Would test out fine but every once in a while the car would cut out and it would start at random after trying from between 10s and 5 minutes.
Replace the fuel relay since it's very cheap.
Check the fuel pump wiring underneath the back seat. The connectors there sometimes start melting (happened twice to me as well)
