evening,

i have a MY03 wrx thats is misbehaving!! i started the car up today and the idle is between 1000 and 2000. ive used learning view to find the fault code which is P0519 idle control malfunction (safe mode). is this do to with the idle control valve or something else??

if it is the I.C.V how do i go about fixing/replacing??

ICV, remove, carb cleaner to clean it out, refit usually solves the problem... your symptoms correspond to ICV, so would be my first port of call... Doesnt cost anything to clean it out (well maybe a can of carb cleaner if you dont have one kicking around)

I don't suppose you have a picture of where the ICV is or what it looks like by any chance? As regards carb cleaner, Halfords?? Is it quite easy to clean? Cheers.

Located on the passenger side rear edge of the inlet manifold on Classics.

So I assume in a similar place on the New Age...???
