Default 2.5" Exhaust

Hi all,

After a bit of exhaust help.

Had my 1995 WRX STI for a week or so now and it has a Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust.
While the exhaust is fun the noise level at motorway speeds is not really something I can live with plus I've never been a fan of big Jap cans.

The guys at powerflow have recommended changing to a 2.5" pipe with slightly bigger centre box and I can then have a nice twin exit or smaller 3.5" single exit.

The car has an ihi vf roller bearing turbo and my question is will there be issues running a 2.5 inch pipe rather than the 3 inch I currently have?

It will be going in for a remap as well so I'm not worried about tuning issues.

Any advice welcome.

Cheers
Rich

From my understanding, upto around 400 ponies is o.k for 2.5",after this figure, the 3" is preffered for better flow etc etc

Hi Rich you will be OK with 2.5" up to 400bhp without problems, but really you will need tweak map/remap if your car has been not mapped..

I run a Milltek 3" exhaust on my motor, as are all T25s . Very happy with the sound.
See if they are what you like on their site or at Litchfiled Imports.
Of course a re-map !
